Birdlike Child

from "milk" by Tumbling Trees by Lightcap

lyrics

I sit and wait for days to fade
Right here this afternoon
A bird that's singing to my ear
Is now howling at the moon

Oh come and see what I create
A dawn with all its blues
I killed that bird now it's alive
Beyond its cry and hue

So now we take in all its yearning
And take its wings so it can be
A feather dangling in the branches
Of the overgrowing trees
Of the overgrowing trees

So long so long it's all so long
The birdlike child is torn
It's been a churning blizzards prey since
I told him to be born

So now we take in all its yearning
And break its wings so it can be
A humbling flotsam in the weariness
Of the ever-parting sea
Of the ever-parting sea
